Some gamblers believe that you can recover your losses by doubling your bet every time you lose. This is known as the Martingale system. The idea is that when you win, the win will be big enough to cover your previous losses. There are two problems with this system: You may run out of money before you win. You can only double your bet so many times because of table limits, and so occasionally you will hit the table limit before winning – and this will be very expensive. A shooter establishes a point, then tries to make that point. Bettors either bet with the shooter or against the shooter. Someone must cover the bet for the shooter in order for the game to progress. Bank craps is the form played in the casinos and has a more complicated form of betting with the house covering the bets. The game of Craps revolves around dice. Wagers are made upon the result of a single roll, or a series of rolls, of a pair of dice. Craps is a game of probabilities and odds, so any discussion of Craps will benefit by a brief explanation of the probabilities involved. Since the game uses two dice, a shooter (the person rolling the dice) can roll any number between 2 and 12. It is important to understand that some numbers are more likely to appear than others on a single roll of the dice. The Hedge Betting craps strategy consists of placing a bet that almost entirely cancels out another one. Almost any roll will bring you profit (a small one, but a profit) in online craps. You'll lose when the dice roll is not covered by the hedge bet. Craps is very easy to play. The current player rolls a seven and the game starts. After the current player rolls a seven a new player is given the dice. Before rolling the dice the new player has to make a bet. Players can make either a pass line or don’t pass line bet. Rolling the dice is called a ‘comeout roll’. If the player rolls 7 or 11 he is said to have made a pass. If the player makes a pass the pass line bets win and don’t pass lines lose. If the player rolls 2,3,12 it is called “craps”. In the case of craps don’t pass line bets win, pass line bets lose. 12 is not taken for ‘craps’ in Las Vegas and 2 is not taken for ‘craps’ in Tahoe. If a 4,5,6,8,9,10 is rolled on the comeout that number is called a "place" number or a "point". In the case of a ‘point’ the shooter continues to roll until that "point" is rolled again, which is called "making the point". With "making the point" "pass line" bets win and "don't pass" bets lose. If a 7 is rolled it is called "sevening out". If a 7 is rolled before the second point number "pass line" bets lose and "don't pass" bets win. If a player sevens out, his turn is over and the whole process begins again with a new player. In the case of a “point” number players can choose one of the bets. You can make bets on each subsequent roll of the dice until a 7 is rolled. To make a Harday bet you have to click on the area with the same name. There are four kinds of Hardway Bets. Hardway bets are turned off by default during a come out roll. To force a bet on, hold down the shift key and click directly on the bet. If a pair is rolled before a 7 or any other combination of the Hardway number is rolled you win. If you have a hard 4 and 10 the payout is 7:1. If you have a hard 6 and 8 the payout is 9:1. The Buy Bet allows you to bet directly on a point-number without making a Pass Line or Come bet. Buy bets pay correct odds but you 5% will be taken out by the house. A buy bet wins if the number rolls before a 7. To make a Buy Bet you have to click on one of the numbers of the table. Buy bet is turned off by default during a come out roll. A Come Bet is made when the shooter is going to repeat the point number. To make a come bet you have to click on the COME area of the craps table. If the shooter rolls a 7 or a 11 you win. If the shooter has craps you lose. If there is a point number the bet is moved from the come area to the point-box indicating the point-number that the shooter must roll for that bet to win. If the point-number is rolled before a 7, you win. If you win in Come Bet the payout is 1:1. Odds bet on the Come bet. If you make an odds bet on the come bet you bet that the shooter will repeat the point-number before rolling 7. Point numbers 4 or 10 pay 1:2 in the case of a win. If the point number is 5 or 9 the payoff is 3:2. If the point number is 6 or 8 the payout is 6:5. Big 6 and Big 8 bets are like regular place bets. In the case of a win with Big 6 or 8 you get paid 1:1. Big 6 and Big 8 bets are turned off by default during a come out roll.
