marked "ON" shows that the point has been set and is located on the craps table over the box for the number rolled as the point: "4, 5, SIX, 8, NINE or 10,". The shooter will keep rolling the dice until he rolls the point or 7 to end the round. If the shooter rolls the point first, a pass line bet wins. If the shooter rolls a 7 first, called seven out, a pass line bet loses.

On the "Come Out" roll, the "Pass Line" bet wins if the shooter rolls a 7 or an 11. The bet loses automatically if the shooter rolls 2, 3 or 12. This is known as "rolling craps". If the shooter rolls 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 the shooter must roll this same number again (to win) before rolling the number 7. Rolling any of these numbers on the "Come Out" roll is called "establishing the "Point". Any number so rolled is thereafter referred to as the "Point".

The correct payoff for odds bets varies from point number to point number, depending on the odds of a 7 being rolled before a particular point is repeated. The payoff formula is the same whether you take single odds, double odds, or more. Correct odds payoffs are as follows: Points 4 and 10 pay 2-to-1 Points 5 and 9 pay 3-to-2 Points 6 and 8 pay 6-to-5 As an example, suppose you bet $1.00 on the pass line and establish a point of 4 in a casino that offers double odds. You now have the option of taking the adds for an additional $2.00. (You can wager a lesser amount or choose not to take any odds at all)

These wagers are decided on the next roll of the dice, the next roll decides if you win or lose. Field Bets are popular because seven outcomes will win (2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12) can win, while only four (5, 6, 7 or 8) can lose. Any Seven Bets are made when you bet the next roll will be a 7. Any Craps Bets are made when you bet the next roll will be a 2, 3 or 12. Two Bets are for the next roll to be a 2. Twelve Bets are for the next roll to be a 12. Three Bets are for the next roll to be a 3. Eleven Bets are for the next roll to be an 11. Horn Bet is made when you are betting that a 2, 3, 11 or 12 will show on the next roll.
